Alan & Karen East, married 52 years and counting, work in the wood shop together in north-central Indiana. Alan started wood turning about 10 years ago. A couple of years later in order to have an outlet for his projects (and to be able to buy more wood), he signed up to have a booth at a couple of craft fairs. Karen helped him manage the boothes and soon had the wood working bug herself. She does cutting boards, trays, and has recently begun making boxes. They spend a lot of their time working in the shop accompanied by their dogs - O’Malley, a mostly black shih tzu-poodle mix, and Chloe, a black and white shih tzu.
