Cherry bowl was first turned on the lathe and rings were cut into the rim.  Those rings were then divided into 36 segments by wood-burning, creating the ‘bricks’.  The bricks were highlighted in shades of brown, orange and yellow.  The bowl measures approximately 10 3/4” in diameter by 1 3/4” tall.
